This Privacy Policy describes how FootyLive ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the FootyLive Discord bot and associated web application (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the Service:

  • Discord identifiers — Your Discord user ID (for personal DM notifications), guild (server) ID, and channel ID where notifications are delivered. These are provided automatically by Discord when you interact with the bot.
  • Subscription preferences — The teams, competitions, and match types you subscribe to for notifications.
  • Notification settings — Your configured language and event type preferences (goals, cards, substitutions, etc.).
  • Match predictions — Score predictions you submit through the bot or web app, along with results and point totals for leaderboards.
  • Usage events — Anonymized interaction timestamps and command usage data for analytics (e.g., which features are used, not who uses them).

We do not collect your name, email address, payment information, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Deliver real-time match notifications to your Discord DMs or server channel.
  • Run the score prediction game and maintain weekly leaderboards.
  • Remember your language and notification preferences.
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the Service (using anonymized data only).
  • Enforce subscription limits and prevent abuse.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in two systems:

  • Operational database — Stores your Discord identifiers, subscription lists, notification settings, and prediction history. This data is linked to your Discord user or guild ID.
  • Analytics database — Stores anonymized analytics events (interaction timestamps, command types, feature usage). These records are not linked back to individual users in any reporting.

Data is stored on servers located in the EU. We use industry-standard security measures to protect stored data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not share your information with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service:

  • Football data provider — We fetch live match data from an external API. No user data is transmitted to this provider.
  • Discord — We communicate with Discord's API to send notifications and receive commands. Discord's own Privacy Policy governs their data handling.
  • Legal requirements — We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you use the Service:

  • Using /stop removes all your subscriptions and notification settings.
  • Removing the bot from your server removes all server-level subscriptions and settings.
  • To request complete deletion of your data, contact us via our Discord community. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a summary of data we hold about your Discord ID.
  • Correction — Update your preferences at any time using bot commands.
  • Deletion — Request removal of all data associated with your Discord ID.
  • Opt out — Use /stop at any time to unsubscribe from all notifications.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and announce significant changes in our Discord community server. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
